OUR
POLICY ON REFERRALS
Altho
MoldAcrossAmerica DOES NOT offer referrals, we DO however
suggest that you make sure that the individual, or company
that you hire, whether for testing or remediation, be able to
provide the following information to you before they set foot
into your house :::
PROOF OF INSURANCE
A COPY OF THEIR STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP)
A
LIST OF ALL CHEMICALS TO BE USED, INCLUDING MSDS (SHEETS)
& EPA REGISTRATION NUMBERS
LICENSES OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL THAT WILL BE IN OR ON YOUR
PROPERTY AT ANY TIME
THE NAME, ADDRESS & TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE LAB THAT THEY
USE FOR PROCESSING TEST RESULTS
Also, it is important to
remember that just because a company has a flashy yellow pages
ad, or a glitzy TV or radio commercial, this does not mean
they are the best.
When
looking for a company that does "testing", you would
be better off hiring one that only does 'testing', not testing
and remediation, or testing and carpet cleaning, or testing
and insulation, etc ... look for someone who does only mold/IAQ
testing and mold inspections (this way the testing
is unbiased and there is no conflict of interest, and no one
trying to sell you a product or service you may not need, just
to make the extra sale).
A
mold inspector or remediator should never offer to make the
needed repairs to a home, nor should they provide you with
specific referrals for home repairs or renovations.
For
any necessary repairs, consumers should hire professionals
with no connection to the inspector or remediator!

Do
not hire anyone who claims they can kill mold with
bleach, flowers, ozone, sand blasting, or
anti-microbial paint - these methods will NOT
work. Note:
Bleach does not kill mold & only makes the
problem worse & the use of ozone is still
under study, as ozone can be hazardous to your
health. |

ALL molds
reproduce by making "spores." Mold spores are
microscopic and only become visible when individual
spores accumulate. According to the United States EPA,
these microscopic particles continuously move through
indoor and outdoor air. When mold spores find moisture
indoors, they may "begin growing and digesting
whatever they are growing on in order to survive."
Molds gradually destroy whatever they are growing on.
